ARTIST BIO's:

Headliner : Mikey Jose

A combination of traditional soul and modern R&B/pop flair, Mikey Jose’s familiar yet novel sound has been turning heads internationally and catching the attention of major global talent since his debut single release, “Stay @ Home”, in 2019. His debut EP, “Hindsight”, released in late 2020 gained him global recognition, receiving local and global radio play, including spins from Swedish P3 National radio. Mikey’s signature soulful vocals and elegant runs have also caught the attention of major Soul/R&B names through his Instagram channel, including Allen Stone, Jeremy Passion, and DeAndre, and has helped him land supporting acts and collaborations with rising international stars, such as Clark Beckham, Sam Wills, and Giacomo Turra.

Currently pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience, Mikey’s life revolves around trying to understand how our brains respond to music, and the innate connection that humans have between music and emotion. Having discovered this deeply seeded music-emotion connection himself through writing an original musical that raised $250K+ for local and global charities, Mikey realized that the power of music surpasses a mere aesthetic purpose, and can be used as a means to mediate serious brain conditions and disorders. His art informs his research and vice-versa, as he hopes to help bridge the gap between science and art.

Opening Act: Rebecca Sichon

Ukrainian singer/songwriter, Rebecca Sichon captures her emotions through R&B/Soul songs. With a heavy influence from her Eastern European roots, the jazz she grew up listening to and her influential and musical father, Boris Sichon, she tugs on the heartstrings of each listener with each note. At the age of 20, the Vancouver, BC based artist has already released eleven singles, two EP’s, her most recent being a collection of “Musical Diary Entries'' called “Dream Book”, and performed dozens of shows across the Lower Mainland, including Mission’s Folk Festival in 2017 and 2019. In October 2021, she performed at Music BC's SOUNDOFF at the Vancouver Film Festival, showcasing her R&B love ballad, “Stay” created with Vancouver's local artists, Mat Trewhit and Jacob Hoskins. From featuring in the Vancouver Sun and making the front page of the Mission City Record, to winning best artist in the Pop category in both the 2020 and 2021 FVMAs, Rebecca continues to make her name known and is setting her sights on even greater achievements in 2022.

After falling in love with singing as a child, Rebecca was able to develop and grow her passion from a young age. Raised in the Fraser Valley and surrounded by a musical family, she was able to explore many different facets of music, becoming a multi-instrumentalist and learning the piano, guitar and ukulele, and even branching off into musical theater. The variety in her musical experiences helped expand and fuel her career as a young artist, and the depth of her knowledge can be heard in the versatility and variety of her music.

With a raw, unmistakably powerful voice, Rebecca seeks to impact the world with her music and inspire others with her passion. Building up for her upcoming releases, the young singer is eager to show the world everything she is capable of.

Opening Act: Mar Emanuel

Fueled by the universal desire to be listened to, producer and singer Mar Emanuel crafts songs with the care and feel of a musician who needs to be heard. A self-awareness can be found in his songs. Through songwriting, smooth vocal performance and lush composition, Mar Emanuel blurs the line between ‘not-quite-for-radio’ pop and new-age RnB. His upcoming EP ‘When I'm With Her’ is his 3rd, and aims to establish his musical identity - one that is true, relatable and unlike what his local Vancouver scene currently has to offer. He is a seasoned performer, having played in venues such as the Orpheum, Railway, Red Gate and in UBC’s AMS Block Party. Mar’s proficiency as a singer, instrumentalist and producer has earned him a loyal following through his work with organizations like Sofar Sounds and various local artists.
