Welcome to the **Rich Hope Live Performance and Recording** at the **Anza Club** on **April 4th and 5th**! Join us for two nights of Rich’s signature blend of blues, rock, and Americana, showcasing his powerful vocals and expertly crafted songwriting combined with all the blood, sweat that Rich brings to every live performance.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to make some noise and be part of history and as Rich himself said “When the idea of doing a live album came up, we wanted an intimate room with good sound. The ANZA Club delivers on both,” says Hope. “It’s a venue where I played some of my first shows in a neighbourhood where I lived for many years, and I still run my business in, so I feel a personal connection to the club. I’m excited to put together this recording."

The ANZA Club is becoming A Place That Matters! But we already knew it was, right? Now we get a plaque letting everyone else know!

The doors open at 7:00 pm, followed by presentations by city councillors, Vancouver Heritage Foundation, ANZA staff and board members starting at 8:00 pm. Then we'll have performances by Jess Vaira, members of the Bluegrass community, Janky Bungag, and Guided by Robots!

We'll also have beer tastings from Strange Fellows Brewing and 33 Acres. With R&B Brewing, Faculty Brewing, and Greenhill Cider on tap. And if you get hungry, Big Jim will be manning the grill providing some tasty hot dogs!

It's time to break out your secret recipes for another staple of ANZA tradition...The ANZA Super Bowl Chilli Cook-off!
Do you think you have the best chilli recipe in town? Prove it at the annual ANZA Super Bowl Chilli Cook-off and get your name immortalized on the Grey Cup Chilli Cook-off Crockpot trophy. It's a long story...

If you'd rather taste than cook, it's $5 for a bowl and judging ballot. Best chilli winner takes all! Tastings will start by the end of the first quarter, and the winner will be announced after the third quarter.
This year's Super Bowl is on Sunday, February 9. We're opening the lounge doors at 2:00, and the game starts around 3:30.

Songs To Phil The Air a tribute to Phil Lesh

Songs that Phil the air is a tribute night honouring the legendary bass player, Phil Lesh. 5 talented Vancouver bass players come together to pay homage to the iconic musician known for his unique style and contributions to the Grateful Dead.

Phil Lesh, a founding member of the Grateful Dead, played bass guitar with the band for over 30 years. Trained in jazz and classical music, Lesh developed his own distinctive sound on his six-string bass, often finding melodies that added depth and complexity to the band's music.

After the Grateful Dead disbanded in 1995, Lesh continued to share his love for music through his side project, Phil Lesh and Friends. He also operated the music venue, Terrapin Crossroads, and performed with Furthur alongside Bob Weir. Lesh's influence on the music industry is undeniable. His legacy will live on through all the musicians and bands he inspired.

Join us for a night of unforgettable music, love dancing and joy as we pay tribute to one of the greatest bass players of all time.

February’s theme and feature performer is TBD.

On the first Thursday of every month upstairs at The ANZA Club, we'll gather to share songs, hone our performance skills and revel in the joy that is live music! Our focus is on live, original tunes but folks are of course welcome to play covers or perform spoken word as well. Each month's theme is meant to inspire and encourage you to write or learn something new.

Doors open and sign up 6:30, show starts at 7pm. Performers get 2 staff price drink tickets, $5 cover and members get in free (only $15 a year so absolutely worth it). List is run on a first come, first serve basis. 2 songs each or roughly 10 mins.

Bring your instruments, some pals to listen and please try to avoid the ol' strum and split. Stick around and support your community!
