About our "newbie" shows:
Dipping your toes into burlesque is not for the faint-hearted. It takes time, preparation, courage, and passion to make it happen. Unfortunately, there aren't many opportunities for newer performers to get the stage experience they need to take it to the next level.
We offer new performers (5 times or less performing a solo on stage) a chance to show burlesque fans what they've got while also having the opportunity to receive written feedback from a more seasoned performer. We also extend this opportunity to performers who want to try out a new act on stage for the first time. This is our way of giving back to the burlesque community.

We acknowledge that this event takes place on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. We also acknowledge the incredible resilience of Indigenous peoples in the face of centuries of trauma caused by colonization, genocide, and ongoing racism. We encourage our audience members to commit to decolonization practices. Find out more about decolonization and why is it essential as we work towards reconciliation here: https://globalsolidaritylocalaction.sites.haverford.edu/...
