BCMC AGM and North Shore Search & Rescue
by Mike Danks
The night will begin with the annual BCMC Annual General Meeting followed by a talk from Mike Danks, team lead for the North Shore Rescue.
One of the oldest SAR teams in Canada, North Shore Rescue has been providing a variety of FREE rescue services to the people of the lower mainland since 1965. It's dedicated volunteer members devote hundreds of hours each year responding to emergency situations. As the popularity of the backcountry increases, so does need for NSR's services.
In this presentation, team lead Mike Danks will share how the organization is structured, a bit about it's diverse membership as well as the importance of it's community operations and involvement.
**** While not mandatory, we will be collecting donations at the door to be given to NSR at the end of the night****
The Social will take place at the Vancouver ANZA Club main floor (corner of 8th Ave and Ontario) on Tuesday, November 12th. The entrance door will open at 7 pm and we will begin the evening at 7:30 PM with an Update from the Executive. Please note: you must be 19+ years old to attend and may be asked to sign-in at the door to ensure we don't exceed 117 people in the hall. Once at capacity we will be forced to turn attendees away. Feel free to grab a drink at the bar before the social starts.
