~Wooly Bear's Thursday Squares~
Come learn to dance and connect with folks for real - no experience or partner necessary! All of the dances are easy to learn and taught on-the-spot by the caller. Bring your friends, or come alone to make some new ones.
7:00PM
Flatfooting lessons and Oldtime Jam sessions.
8:30-11:00
Square Dances. taught on the spot!
NEW FEATURE: flatfooting workshops! Show up right at 7PM, and learn how to play music with your feet. The best shoes for this can make some kind of tapping noise as you step, such as hard rubber or wood. Grippy soft rubber is more difficult for flatfooting.
If you'd rather jam than dance, pick tunes rather than promenade, bring your stringed instruments, and head to the upstairs "attic jam" from 7PM till close!
Anyone 19+ can arrive at 7:00 and the main square dance will start at 8:30.
This dance is queer and trans friendly. Be any gender, dance with all genders.
You can ask anyone to dance, and you can say "no" to anyone for any reason. If someone rejects your dance invitation, please be gracious. If anyone is making you uncomfortable or harassing you either talk to them directly, or go talk to the door volunteer or the friendly Anza Club security guard (usually right outside the entrance door).
--------
Cost: $12 cash only (ATM onsite)
Want to get in free? Volunteer for an hour at the door! Comment below or message us to reserve a spot. 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 hour-long shifts are still available.

(Direct message us if you want to bring your large group: like a killer office party or team up to surprise your friend on their birthday week!!!)

Venue Accessibility:
Entrance has a couple stairs just inside the door.
Bathrooms are in the downstairs lounge, access by staircase.
OR, for bathrooms you can go outside, go around the corner, and enter the downstairs lounge through a street-level entrance.
Dance Accessibility:
If you have a physical disability that makes it hard to dance let us know; the callers have a lot of patterns up their sleeves and we can find some dances that work for you. We’ve called squares with people in wheelchairs before and it's a lot of fun!
Note: There is a typo on the flyers saying Sept 29. But truly it is the 28th.
